TRIBAL AND TRADITIONAL RUGS FROM EMMA MELLOR

This beautiful runner is hand knotted in Mazār-e Sharīf Afghanistan. It is very unusual to have a pair of sister runners such as these. Both have ecru backgrounds and rose pink borders and are available to buy as a pair or singularly. The botanical design featured throughout is picked out in pastel shades of soft green, antique pink and chalky blue.  Natural dyes derived from flowers, berries, walnut husks, pomegranate rind, madder root and indigo are used to create these extraordinary and beautiful colour palettes. The wool is locally sourced and full of natural oils which not only feel wonderful underfoot but also act as a natural repellent helping to keep the rug clean.

We only make hand knotted rugs: no shortcuts and no hand tufting. Quality and good design is incredibly important in creating beautiful yet sustainable products.

Not all our rugs are listed online so if this is not the correct size for you please contact us and we will try and find your ideal rug.
