Mushwani rugs are a tetxile art form that combines flatweave and pile carpet weaving techniques. These hall runners are produced by the Mushwani tribe in Herat, in southwestern Afghanistan. A master weave, it is also known as the Queen maliky or kilim. Designs are always geometric and most of the pieces come in square and rectangular sizes, as well as runners. Made with fine Beljic wool, which has a velvety feel. This Afghan rug represents exceptional value but is also a hard-wearing and usable.
