TRIBAL AND TRADITIONAL RUGS FROM EMMA MELLOR

This beauty is in the most wonderful colour palette with antique gold background and touches of madoc, olive and pink! This piece is 298cm x 81cm and was made by wonderfully talented weavers.

This rug is hand knotted in Mazār-e Sharīf Afghanistan. Hand spun wool is used with natural dyes derived from flowers and berries, as well as walnut husks and pomegranate rind, madder root and indigo then the rug is lovingly washed and finished. 

We only make hand knotted rugs: no shortcuts and no hand tufting. Quality and good design is incredibly important in creating beautiful yet sustainable products.
