TRIBAL AND TRADITIONAL RUGS FROM EMMA MELLOR

The very best of Afghan weaving. This rug is hand knotted in Mazār-e Sharīf Afghanistan by the most skilled Afghan weavers. Hand spun wool is used with natural dyes derived from flowers and berries, as well as walnut husks and pomegranate rind, madder root and indigo then the rug is lovingly washed and finished. The end result is a very special rug with real depth and movement of colour. Each piece is completely unique and individually made. Handmade in a classic Mamluk design in a very long size.

We only make hand knotted rugs: no shortcuts and no hand tufting. Quality and good design is incredibly important in creating beautiful yet sustainable products
