ARLATAN RUGS
This very beautiful and unusual piece has a celestial garden design. The background colour is calico and the guard borders surrounding the central field are soft blue, palest green and antique rose. There are two larger borders at each end filled with palmettes and vines. The design is picked out in mulberry, cerulean blue and petal oink. A particularly lovely detail is the corner spandrels which are filled with dancing anemones in shades of mulberry and soft rabbit fur grey. This is a very unusual and fresh colour palette. It really is a beauty.
