This is a handwoven chalk kilim runner from Afghanistan. Each one of our natural kilims are handmade with organic raw materials, only natural dyes and hand spun wool. This creates a beautiful yet sustainable product with no two kilims ever being the same.
This is an extra long Kilim Runner and can be used for a hallway or as a stair runner.
Woven exclusively for Emma Mellor ; a contemporary twist on a classic kilim. Inspired by the colour and natural pigments found in handmade tiles.
What is a Kilim? The word Kilim refers to a "pileless" textile and reversible rug that is flat and thin usually made in Afghanistan, Turkey, Kurdistan, the Caucasus and Iran.
