TUNDRA WOVEN RUG - 304cm x 220cm (10' x 7'3)

Our Tundra rug is handmade using the weaving technique Soumak. This is a type of flat weave, somewhat resembling kilim, but with a stronger and thicker weave, a smooth front face and a ragged back, where kilim is smooth on both sides.

These exciting new additions to the collection are also a wonderful way to use up the excess wool leftover in the process of rug making. This surplus wool which has already been spun and dyed is collected together to make an all over undulating colour that result is an interesting, textural piece which is utterly unique and is another step into improving sustainability.
