OLD PERSIAN KILIM RUG - 274cm x 155cm (9' x 5'1)

This Kilim rug is handwoven by the nomadic Qashqai tribe that migrates around the Shiraz province in southern western Iran (Persia). The Qashqai kilim is made using hand spun wool and natural dyes.
These older examples are now vary hard to find in such good condition. A fantastic example of this style of rug.
What is a Kilim? The word Kilim refers to a "pileless" textile and reversible rug that is flat and thin usually made in Afghanistan, Turkey, Kurdistan, the Caucasus and Iran.
